Its so hard to believe its been 20 years since we walked the halls together at Oxon Hill. Looking back, could we even visualize what we would be like in 20 years? Speaking for myself I feel as young inside now as I did then. Oh, sure, as our parents said, "with age comes responsibility" mortgages, rents, car payments-retirement accounts! Ah! But inside, there is always the part that sees the joy of living everyday, especially in my children.
Whats amazing is, 20 years ago we didnt realize what an impact our high school years would have on us. For good or bad, they were one part of the puzzle that helped shape who we would become.
Now we have an evening to look back on those momentous years. Will one evening be enough? Probably not, but it gives us a chance to see those who meant so much to us then. And for those of us who have fallen out of touch, it gives us a chance to breathe new life into those old friendships.
I hope, along with the committee who worked so hard that this will be a memorable evening. 1999, on the verge of a new millenium. So many possibilities, so many exciting adventures to experience are just over the horizon. As we did 20 years ago, lets set sail and keep following our dreams!
Sincerely,
Maryellen Kimball-Anderson
